We stayed at La Cle Lodge and absolutely loved it. The grounds and house were beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we will definitely be back!

Amazing place to spend a few day in Franschhoek. Excellent service and very comfortable with everything you need. Highly recommended. Superb breakfast and nice swimming pool in luscious gardens within a wine estate.

How to get there

From the Cape Town International Airport From the airport follow road towards the exit to the N2 highway towards Somerset West. Exit left to take the R300. Continue for approximately 16km which will take you onto the N1 highway. Take right hand access to the N1 highway towards Paarl. Travel for approximately 32km. Take left hand Exit 59 (Jan van Riebeeck Drive) marked Wellington / Paarl. Turn right at the Tjunction onto the R301 and proceed under the N1 highway towards Franschhoek. Continue on this road for about 16km. You will pass Drakenstein Prison, historic site of Nelson Mandela?s release, on your right hand side. Continue to travel along this road till you reach the stop street. Turn left onto the R45 towards Franschhoek. Continue straight until you enter Franschhoek. Take the first turn to the right into Cabriere Street. Turn right onto Daniel Hugo Street. Use the 2nd gate on your left at 13 Daniel Hugo Street Via Stellenbosch From the airport follow road towards the exit to the N2 highway towards Somerset West. Take left hand Exit 33 (R310) towards Stellenbosch. At the Tjunction turn right to continue on the R310 to Stellenbosch. Follow the Franschhoek signs (R310) over the Helshoogte Pass. Pass through small village called Pniel and pass Boschendal Wine farm on your right. At the Tjunction turn right (R45) towards Franschhoek and continue for about 17km. Continue straight until you enter Franschhoek. Take the first turn to the right into Cabriere Street. Turn right onto Daniel Hugo Street Use 2nd gate on your left at 13 Daniel Hugo Street
