Accommodation Description

Pom Gratz is an off-grid glamping farm in the quiet village of Tesselaarsdal, offering three self-catering eco-domes: Serenity, Infinity, and Tranquillity. Each dome runs entirely on solar power and is designed with a minimal environmental footprint - waterless composting toilets, greywater wetlands, and no connection to the national electricity grid. Inside, guests find a queen-size bed dressed in quality cotton linen, an en-suite bathroom, and a kitchenette with a two-plate gas stove, bar fridge, and tea and coffee facilities. Every dome opens onto a private deck complete with a built-in hammock and an outdoor bathtub, both looking out over the working farm. Bathrobes, towels, and handmade goat's milk soaps are provided. Optional breakfast, braai, and picnic packs can be pre-ordered before arrival. Hosts Mike and Sandy bring genuine warmth, local knowledge, and hands-on health and lifestyle coaching to every stay. Private braai facilities and secure parking are available on-site.

Setting Description

Tesselaarsdal sits in the Cape Overberg, roughly 21 kilometres from Caledon and the N2, and about 40 kilometres from Hermanus. The village forms part of the Cape Country Meander - a route through eight rural Western Cape towns, six mountain ranges, three passes, and seven dams. The farm itself is surrounded by renosterbos, pomegranate orchards, and a 350-square-metre greenhouse growing vegetables and herbs. Guests can walk the on-site Labyrinth of Love, explore the orchards, stargaze from the sky deck, or simply absorb the Overberg's famously vast open skies. The surrounding area offers hiking trails, mountain biking routes, and birding. Nearby Hermanus and Gansbaai are accessible for whale watching along the coast, while wine estates in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley are just 40 kilometres away. Phillipskop Mountain Reserve and the Haarkapper Hiking Trail are both within a short drive from the farm.
