Accommodation Description
Rus In De Rust consists of a lovingly restored heritage main house and a separate, self-contained Casita studio. The main house features two bedrooms, sharing a full bathroom with shower. The open plan living/dining area connects to a well-equipped kitchen. The house includes an indoor fireplace or BBQ area and opens via verandas onto garden views.
The Casita is a cosy studio unit behind the main house. It accommodates two guests, offering an open-plan layout with en-suite shower & toilet, a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and tea/coffee facilities, and its own small stoep that leads toward the garden and a “plaasdam” (farm dam) swimming area.
Both units may be booked together (to accommodate up to 6 guests total) or separately (main house for 4, Casita for 2), making it ideal for groups wanting both togetherness and privacy.
Setting Description
Situated in the quiet village of De Rust at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains, the property enjoys village charm with mountain backdrops and peaceful surroundings. The house and Casita sit within mature gardens, close enough to walk into the village’s restaurants, cafés and shops. From the verandas one experiences quiet mornings and afternoon light on ridge lines. The nearby Karoo plains and Meiringspoort pass lie within easy drive, offering scenic routes, rivers, and natural exploration possibilities. The heritage character gives a sense of living inside local history, with original finishes and warmth in a rural town setting.
