Steenbok Plaas Kothuise offers a scenic self-catering retreat tucked away in the Witzenberg Valley within the beautiful Western Cape countryside. Set within a 65-hectare working farm and game park, the cottages offer stunning views of the Witzenberg Mountains and surrounding valleys.
Guests can unwind in a peaceful haven, with two charming cottages, Sunbird and Kingfisher, each designed for comfort and privacy. Each unit features modern amenities, including a private wood-fired hot tub on the deck, providing the perfect setting for relaxation amid nature’s beauty. Enjoy the tranquillity and unique wildlife, or take advantage of on-site hiking and mountain biking trails.

Exit the airport onto Airport Approach Road and drive 1.3 km.
Use the left lane to merge onto Settlers Way/N2 via the ramp to Somerset West, continue for 600 m.
Merge onto Settlers Way/N2, drive for 5.4 km.
Take exit 22A toward R300/Bellville, continue for 2.4 km.
Merge onto Kuils River Rd/R300, continue for 13.1 km.
Use any lane to merge onto N1 toward Paarl/Worcester, continue for 20.6 km.
Take exit 47 for R44 toward Stellenbosch/R101/Klapmuts/Wellington, continue for 350 m.
Turn left onto R44, drive for 22.8 km.
Turn left onto Stokery Rd/R44, follow R44 for 40.7 km.
Continue onto R46, drive for 19.2 km.
Turn left onto Boontjiesrivier gravel road from R46, continue straight for about 2.5 km.
At the Yjunction, keep left.
Pass a black motorized gate on the left (gate 1).
Turn left at gate 1, keypad on the right.
Enter code 159357 to open the gate. If it doesn't open, try manually.
Ensure gate closure upon entry (unless open during daytime).
Follow paved road and signs to your designated cottage.
The farm is only 1hour and 30 minutes from Cape Town.
Yes, each cottage has it's own private wood-fired hot tub / splash pool on the deck.
There are three different distances to choose from: Yellow route - 7.5km, Blue route - 10km and Red route - 13 km.

The farm offers 2 communal swimming pools, to be shared with other guests.
Yes, pets are welcome: the cottages offer enclosed areas with enough grass for your 4 legged companions to enjoy. Strict rules of the Game Park do apply.
