Accommodation Description
Thuúla Haven is a modern, off-grid barn-style house designed for easy gathering and time outdoors. Sleeping eight across four bedrooms (two en-suite, one shared bathroom, plus a separate WC), it layers generous living spaces with glass and light: an open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge with a wood fireplace, a second TV lounge, and a calm sunroom. Outside, a broad patio with braai flows to a pool and lawns above a scenic farm dam with seating and a firepit. Practical touches keep stays smooth - Wi-Fi, two smart TVs, and a yoga room offer space to reset. With finishes that feel warm rather than precious, families and friends can cook together, eat long meals, and drift between rooms at an unhurried pace. Backed by fynbos slopes and mountain views, the house frames nature from every angle, offering golden-hour light and starry nights.
Setting Description
Set on an 80-hectare farm off the R320 in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, the house looks over fynbos, grazing lands and mountains. Days drift between swimming in the dam, paddling the SUP, and following farm paths that lead to streams and waterfalls. When it’s time to explore, Hermanus is a short drive for cliff-path strolls, beaches and seasonal whale watching. The valley’s celebrated wine farms - Creation, Hamilton Russell, Bouchard Finlayson, Ataraxia and more- offer tastings and unhurried lunches with big views. Back at the house, sundowners on the patio ease into braais, pizza from the oven, and a late swim under a wide Overberg sky. The setting balances privacy with access, so you can be deep in nature one moment and at a cellar door or ocean lookout the next. Clear night skies invite stargazing, while mountain-bike tracks and trail runs begin right from the door.
