Adjacent to the historic Manor House and the Barn, the studio has been created from one of the farm's original outbuildings and offers a light-filled, open-plan living space with views looking out over olive trees and the surrounding mountains. It's a compact but complete getaway - self-catering, private, and very much part of the character of this unique Klein Karoo farm. Guests have access to the 136-hectare farm for walks through olive groves, across the seasonal river, and into pristine Karoo veld, with the iconic Towerkop peak as a constant backdrop.

Setting Description

Uitspan Farm sits in Buffelsdrift, a quiet hamlet just off the legendary Route 62 in the Klein Karoo. The farm is framed by the dramatic Swartberg Mountains, with the striking Towerkop peak dominating the skyline. Originally a wine farm, it now grows olives, artichokes, figs, pomegranates, quinces, and almonds - the kind of working farm landscape that makes every walk feel genuinely rewarding. The adjacent Buffelsdrift Conservancy is home to zebra and rooi hartebeest, sometimes spotted over the fence during a stroll on the farm. The surrounding gravel roads are well-suited for mountain biking or a slow drive through the countryside. Ancient stone walls on the property are believed to have been built by the Khoi, pre-dating colonial settlement - a reminder that this land carries remarkable history.
