Windvogels comprises two self-catering villas set on a 211-hectare farm, offering complete off-grid luxury and exceptional privacy. Each villa is solar powered with purified borehole water and no reliance on municipal services. The Hare Villa is a two-bedroom unit, each with en suite bathroom, an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, a fireplace, and a patio with braai facilities and private wood-fired hot tub. The Hunter Villa is a one-bedroom retreat, with an open plan kitchenette, living area with fireplace, and its own private outdoor hot tub and braai area. Interiors are minimal and elegant, with vaulted ceilings, natural materials, ample glazing to frame views, and careful use of lighting. Guests will find blackout capacity for stargazing, indoor-outdoor flow to patios, and comfort in simplicity.

Setting Description

Windvogels is perched midway between Montagu and Barrydale, in a semi-arid hillscape of the Klein Karoo, offering uninterrupted 360° vistas over rugged terrain and distant mountains. The surrounding terrain is scrub-veld and gentle ridges, with farm tracks, wild succulents, and open skies dominating the horizon. This is a place of silence, without any neighbours, no ambient noise, only the wind, wildlife, and deep quiet. Daylight brings warm hues on the hills, and nightfall reveals a black sky dotted with stars. On the property, guests may walk or cycle gentle trails, rest on secluded vantage points, or watch light shift in the valley below.
