Magical for families
Kids ran wild, we walked forever, and the cottage had everything we needed — we'll be back.
Witkrans Farm & Cottages offers an authentic, down-to-earth escape on a working organic farm just outside Stanford. Framed by the Kleinriviersberg Mountains and ancient milkwood forests, the farm is a sanctuary for nature lovers, families, and couples seeking quiet, space, and connection with the land. The farm features a collection of charming, off-grid self-catering cottages — each lovingly restored and individually styled. Expect thick stone walls, timber beams, fireplaces for chilly evenings, and big outdoor verandas perfect for slow mornings and starry nights. Solar power and gas appliances ensure a comfortable, eco-conscious stay, while panoramic views and abundant birdlife add a rich natural soundtrack. Whether you're wandering the fynbos trails, picking organic veggies, or simply reading by the fire, Witkrans invites you to step into a gentler rhythm of life.
Located along Grootbos Road between Stanford and Gansbaai, Witkrans is tucked between pristine mountain wilderness and coastal plains. The farm borders the Walker Bay Conservancy and is minutes from the De Kelders coastline, making it an ideal base for whale watching, beach days, and exploring the Overberg’s wild beauty. You can hike directly into the surrounding mountains, visit nearby wine farms, or simply stay put and soak up the silence.
