The Bush Camp at Limpopo River Lodge offers an unfenced, back-to-basics stay within the Tuli Block, designed for guests seeking a closer connection to the landscape. The camp is set away from the main lodge and accommodates guests in rustic safari-style units, positioned to maximise privacy and immersion in the bush.

Accommodation is simple and practical, with comfortable beds and access to shared ablution facilities equipped with hot-water showers and flushing toilets. The camp includes a communal kitchen area suitable for self-catering, as well as a central braai and firepit where evenings are spent cooking over open flames and sharing stories beneath clear night skies.

This is an off-grid experience where the focus is firmly on wildlife, birdsong and the rhythm of the surrounding reserve. The Bush Camp is well-suited to small groups or friends travelling together who value authenticity and proximity to nature over conventional lodge comforts.

Setting Description

Positioned within a 9,000-hectare private reserve in Botswana’s Tuli Block, the Bush Camp is surrounded by mopane woodland, ancient baobabs and rugged koppies. Wildlife moves freely through the area, and the unfenced design of the camp heightens the sense of being in a true wilderness environment.

The reserve offers a network of self-drive routes, allowing guests to explore independently and encounter plains game and prolific birdlife at their own pace. The Limpopo River system nearby attracts seasonal wildlife activity, adding to the diversity of sightings. Located approximately 15 km from the Platjan border post, the camp is easily accessible for travellers entering from South Africa. Evenings are defined by complete darkness, expansive skies and the distant calls of nocturnal animals, delivering a classic African bush atmosphere without the distractions of urban life.
