Beautifully built on either side of the curving Great Fish River in the Eastern Cape, Kwandwe Private Game Reserve is a spectacular escape offering a scenic landscape rich in flora and fauna. It’s here, in the heart of the reserve, where the beautiful Ecca Lodge offers guests a indoor-outdoor lifestyle embracing the African wilderness.
With only 6 suites, 3 of which are dedicated to families, the lodge is intimate and relaxed with decor inspired by the natural textures of the African bush. The double suites can accommodate 2 adults each and the family suites accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, with private plunge pools and outdoor showers in each unit.
Known for the best guiding, understated luxury and an abundance of animals and wildlife that call the reserve home, Kwandwe Private Game Reserve offers a range of safari activities and accommodation options to curate the ultimate safari. Set in the heart of the reserve overlooking a valley, Ecca Lodge offers breathtaking views onto an escarpment of shale cliffs.
All guests at Ecca can enjoy twice daily game drives, nature walks and big game walking safaris. Guests in family suites are allocated a private guide and vehicle. At the lodge, The Den is ideally equipped to keep little hands busy for hours and a shared lodge pool provides the perfect place for a communal splash. Additional family activities include board games, scavenger hunts and more.
Spent 3 amazing days at Ecca Lodge with my partner and young daughter. It was the most incredible experience and exceeded all expectations we had.

We stayed at Kwandwe for 4 nights in February 2024 and it was a truly special & unforgettable few days. The lodge is beautifully situated, the rooms were amazing, the food was delicious, especially lunch which we usually ate after a morning swim in the lovely pool! R. Ambler
