Accommodation Description

Ecca Lodge is an intimate luxury safari lodge with just six suites, combining modern style and bush ambience. Three Luxury Suites are designed for two adults each and three Private Vehicle Suites sleep two adults plus up to two children under 12 for whom stay is complimentary (maximum of two children per private-vehicle suite). All suites have private plunge pools, outdoor showers, indoor and outdoor bathroom amenities, air conditioning, fans, mosquito nets (malaria-free), double vanities and private in-room safes. The Private Vehicle Suites also include exclusive use of a guide and vehicle. Main lodge spaces include an indoor-outdoor dining room and lounge, a library, boutique shop, rim-flow lap pool, plus communal viewing decks with sweeping escarpment and valley views.

Setting Description

Set high in Kwandwe’s wilderness, Ecca Lodge overlooks a valley beneath shale cliffs, where wilderness is framed by dramatic rock escarpments. It sits well within the private reserve, offering views into the natural rhythms of wildlife movement. Guests arrive via Port Elizabeth (≈ 160 km), scenic drive or charter flight, or via Kwandwe’s own private airstrip. The lodge’s design draws on natural textures of the bush to blur inside and outside, so guests experience fresh air, native birdsong, and bush sounds from private decks. Evenings bring clear skies for star-gazing; communal spaces provide places to gather, while suite decks allow privacy. Children are welcomed, with dedicated family activities or time in “The Den” while adults sample game drives or walks.
