The food was fabulous, the staff couldn't do enough for you. The location, rooms, facilities were all amazing. Brian our ranger was brilliant with both his knowledge and is ability to find the more elusive animals.

Lalibela embodies the principle of "Conservation for conservation's sake," a commitment that permeates diverse aspects of environmental stewardship. Preservation endeavors at Lalibela extend to both indigenous flora and fauna, coupled with a conscientious approach to minimizing waste within the reserve. A notable ongoing project illustrating this dedication involves the meticulous removal of alien wattle trees. In this process, extracted trees are carefully burned, and the resulting ash is reintegrated into the soil. Water conservation is also a focal point, with Lalibela featuring an on-site water purification plant. Utilizing a sophisticated filtration process, water is efficiently managed at the lodges, emphasizing sustainability in resource utilization.
The dedication to wildlife conservation is reinforced by a passionate team actively involved in safeguarding the reserve's biodiversity. Lalibela's anti-poaching unit plays a pivotal role in shielding endangered species from external threats. Beyond the environmental realm, Lalibela's commitment extends to the local community, with staff originating from the region. The establishment of diverse initiatives, ranging from feeding schemes to addressing primary healthcare needs, underscores Lalibela's holistic approach to conservation that goes beyond the reserve boundaries, positively impacting both the environment and the community.
