Fairview Estates is a scenic self-catering getaway situated at the foot of the majestic Maluti mountains in the eastern Free State, bordering Lesotho. The estate is on a working farm host to Bonsmara Cattle, maize and beans, and a collection of friendly Alpacas. Breathtaking countryside views and cosy lodgings offer travellers the chance to truly escape from it all.
Fairview Estates comprises four different accommodation options, Twin Towers, De Rust Farm Cottage, the Damn Caravan and Opstal, all of which are equipped with kitchens for self-catering ease, spacious living areas, heating, and private outdoor balconies or patios. There is also a communal swimming pool available to guests seeking a refreshing dip on hot days.
Surrounded by the stunning Maluti Mountains, the little town of Fouriesburg lies just 10 kilometres from the Lesotho Border in arguably one of the most beautiful corners of South Africa. It’s here where Fairview Estates offers an authentic, laid-back retreat for families and friends.
Guests will have access to 4000 hectares of sweeping farmland and rolling foothills, best explored on foot with a scenic hike or on a mountain bike. You can also play a round of darts, swim in the dam-fed pool with a view, or simply relax in the garden and enjoy the barbecue facilities.
I stumbled upon Fairview Estate’s Twin Towers while looking for nice hiking trails, and decided to book. What a wonderfully quirky and fun place to stay with spectacular views over mountains.

An awesome place to reset and see nature at its best. The hosts are amazing and helped make our special weekend even better. Would definitely recommend it, it’s more beautiful in person!
