Accommodation Description
Sanjika's farm stays, known as the Boshuis and Boomhuis, are two cabin homes fully equipped with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. They are nestled in a forest at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, where relaxation is guaranteed. Sanjika Escape is a mere 15 minutes from George Airport, but you will feel as though you are miles away from civilisation as you are surrounded by birdsong, fresh mountain air and the sound of the nearby stream. Each unit is situated in a private location on the farm. The cabins offer an off-grid getaway that uses solar energy, gas and borehole water. There are a handful of little paths, which you can meander along on the farm. Our favourite path winds along the Modder River, through the indigenous forest and ends up at a waterfall and a freshwater pool.Our beach stay, Beach House 11A, is found along Glentana Beach outside George. Beach House 11A consists of a three-bedroom en-suite light-filled home that is fully equipped for a relaxing stay. Glentana Beach is accessed via a private walkway and staircase down the dunes - the perfect spot to enjoy a sundowner. Glentana Beach is a Blue Flag beach, and you can spend hours walking along this beautiful beach or exploring rock pools and having a refreshing swim in the waves.
Activities
Boshuis and Boomhuis: The farm offers a few walks along the river and you are welcome to wander about, but please be wary of the buffalo and do not walk near them. They are wild animals and extremely dangerous, no matter how docile they may seem. We will advise you which camps the buffalo are currently in when you arrive, so that you know where it is safe to walk. Guests can enjoy a lovely hike along the Modder River that leads you to a waterfall and freshwater cool pool which you can take a dip in if you are brave! We can help guests who would like to enjoy longer hiking trails and guide you which routes to take with many trails in the area that traverses the Outeniqua mountain range. Moutain bikers can cycle on the nearby farm roads and even tackle the Montague Pass. We can advise you on routes in the area.
Beach House 11A: The beach stay has the magnificent Glentana Beach that is miles long. There is a lovely walk to an old shipwreck to the left of the main beach, but you can only get there when it is low tide. We will be able to guide you and help you plan your beach walk according to the tides.
Although the accommodation units and the surrounding area is a sight to behold, the Garden Route offers an array of exciting and interesting activities for every taste. The culinary delights, the adrenaline adventures, the nature-lover trails, beautiful beaches and the sporting opportunities are only the highlights of what this part of the country has to offer.

How to get there
From Cape Town: Take the N2, take the George Airport turnoff (R404/Oudtshoorn Road), and turn left onto R404. You will pass George Airport on your left and reach a crossing: please be careful whilst crossing this road. Continue straight on the R404/Oudtshoorn Road until the first circle (5,8km). Cornerstone Lifestyle Centre will be on your lefthand side. Turn left at the circle onto the Witfontein road (dirt road). Continue straight for 1,6km until the TJunction. Turn right at the Tjunction and continue for 500m. Turn left at the Sanjika/Houtboschfarm sign. Continue straight until you get to a silver grey gate with two dark grey pillars on your left. There is a Sanjika Farms sign, as well as a Houtboschfarm sign. Please call Elsa to open the gate.
From Knysna: Take the N2 through Wilderness and get onto the highway on your lefthand side just before you enter George Continue straight until you get the R404/Oudtshoorn turnoff (towards George Airport).
