About AfriCamps at Kam'Bati

AfriCamps at Kam'Bati is a nature-lovers escape comprising a selection of family glamping tents on Jubileeskraal Farm in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. Approximately 20km west of the historic countryside village of Swellendam, situated at the confluence of the Sonderend River and Breede River, AfriCamps at Kam'Bati is a renowned family-friendly destination, providing endless opportunities for children to explore and enjoy themselves. The camp features amenities such as a playground, putt-putt course, and swimming pools with slides, catering to children with or without a swimming certificate. Parents can also relish their stay in this beautiful camp, surrounded by 13 boutique tents amid vibrant birdlife near the Breede River.

The spacious 55m2 custom-made tents are thoughtfully furnished and come equipped with a private kitchen, lounge, en-suite bathroom (featuring a private shower and toilet), two cosy bedrooms with real beds (each tent accommodating up to five guests), a fireplace, air-conditioning, and a wooden deck. Each tent is accompanied by an outdoor wood-fired hot tub, providing an idyllic spot to listen to birdsongs or unwind under the stars at night.

AfriCamps Kam'Bati Setting

The Overberg region of South Africa is known for its spectacular scenic beauty, where flowing rivers, lush valleys, coastal towns and majestic mountains come together to create a postcard-perfect travel destination. It's here where Jaco and Dene Badenhorst, both maize farmers and camp owners, have transformed Kam'Bati into an ideal glamping getaway. The camp benefits from the stunning natural surroundings, showing off a spectacle of spring flowers and bright yellow canola fields from August to October.

Water sports enthusiasts can indulge in activities on the Sonderend River, often referred to as the 'river that doesn't end,' and the Breede River, merging on the farm. The camp is a haven for bird lovers, with over 200 bird species gracefully inhabiting the area. Evenings at AfriCamps at Kam'Bati are best spent under the stars, either beside the braai or in the outdoor hot tub. Roast marshmallows, and relive the joy of childhood in this enchanting setting.
