About Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape

Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape is situated in the beautiful historic town of Tulbagh, just an hour and a half from Cape Town in the Western Cape. It is a charming 34-hectare (85-acre) working farm, deeply rooted in the time-honored Cape tradition, complete with a vineyard, olive orchard, and paddocks housing horses, donkeys, cows, and a diverse array of birdlife. Surrounded by picturesque mountain wilderness, the farm also serves as a habitat for various wild small animal species.

When staying at Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape, guests are treated to stunning mountain vistas, a laid-back farm lifestyle, and an array of on- and off-site activities catering to a wide range of interests. Duikersdrift has a double cottage that can sleep a maximum of 2 people and a family cottage that accommodates up to 4 people. The property boasts several attractions, including the family-friendly Obiqua Café Restaurant, and the Duikersdrift Deli & Farm Stall offering a diverse range of products, from cold cuts and cheeses to an extensive selection of artisanal goods and delightful picnics.

Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape Settting

Tulbagh is known for its gorgeous landscapes and scenic vistas, and Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape certainly shows them off. The tranquil pool area offers a breathtaking view of the majestic Saronsberg Mountain, dominating the western skyline, and becomes an ideal spot to enjoy stunning sunsets. Guests have access to an array of activities, including picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, bird-watching, and the opportunity to interact with and feed the friendly farm animals.

Over the years, the farm has undergone several name changes. However, the current owners decided to restore the historic name of Duikersdrift in honor of the small bush duiker antelope that still inhabits the land. Their vision was to transform Duikersdrift into a quintessential Cape Winelands tourism destination, offering warm hospitality, family-friendly activities, exquisite cuisine, and contemporary farm-style accommodation.
