Located on Melozhori Private Game Reserve in the scenic Cape Fold Mountains of the Western Cape, Melozhori Lodge is an all-inclusive retreat and is considered the flagship accommodation of the reserve. Tucked away in a beautiful setting that's conveniently less than a 2-hour drive from Cape Town, guests can enjoy 2,300 hectares of rolling hills and towering mountains with clear views of the reserve and surrounding areas.

Melozhori Lodge sleeps just eight guests in four spacious en-suite bedrooms, each of which open onto private decks, offering panoramic views of the dam and the valley beyond. Upon stepping into the lodge, you are welcomed by the distinctive scent of Africa – the aroma of open thatch. The expansive roof extends across the open-plan lounge, dining area, and flanking bedrooms. Outside, there's a large wooden deck with a rim-flow pool, offering a tranquil view of the mountains and free-roaming plains game.

Melozhori Lodge Setting

Starting as overgrazed farmlands in 2008, Melozhori Private Game Reserve was rebought and has since expanded to 2,300 hectares of succulent Karoo, renosterveld and sections of fynbos in the mountainous areas. Home to over 38 species of game, 131 species of birds and an abundance of unique fauna and flora, Melozhori Private Game Reserve is the ideal place to pause on your journey through South Africa.

Guests of Melozhori Lodge will feel totally immersed in the stunning surrounds, where trees and a drinking dam surrounding the homestead attract wildlife. If you wake up early, you may find yourself sharing the view with giraffes and grazing zebras! As a family residence, the setting is entirely secure for children, who can enjoy the expansive open spaces and the thrill of spotting game from an exclusive open game-drive vehicle.
