This private house features an innovative off-the-grid design while blending seamlessly into its exquisite, fynbos-filled surroundings in the Western Cape's De Hoop Nature Reserve. Embrace luxury with four thoughtfully designed suites, each featuring ocean views and an en-suite bathroom. According to Morukuru Ocean House, a guest favourite in each suite is the ocean-facing nook boasting uninterrupted views - a perfect place to relax, unwind, and look for whales. Also promised is culinary excellence and exceptional service from the dedicated hospitality team. The spacious dining room offers seemingly endless views of the ocean while meals are prepared by a private chef. Other exciting features of the property include a sea view lounge, a hot tub, a private on-site pool, and a rooftop terrace ideal for watching the sunset.
Morukuru Ocean House Setting
Between July and December, migrating southern right whales call De Hoop’s Marine Protected coastline home. As no boats are permitted during this time, the whales can easily be spotted from the comfort of Morukuru Ocean House. Alternatively, a short walk away lies 51 kilometres of pristine, sandy beach perfect for land-based whale watching and embracing the peace and tranquillity of the area.
While the house is everything a guest could ask for and more, there are also ample activities to enjoy. An exclusive game vehicle and guide are ready and waiting to embark on a drive around the vast De Hoop Nature Reserve - allowing guests to discover the flora, fauna, and abundant aviary life in the area. Alternatively, head out for a guided marine walk to discover the tidal pools - a highly recommended activity. Other options include sandboarding, snorkelling, and mountain biking, with all the necessary equipment available at a moment’s notice.
