We had a wonderful long weekend at Mountain Bliss. The accommodation was fantastic and the view of the mountains was breathtaking. It is even more beautiful than the photos. The house has everything you need and more. Can't wait to go back again.

Mountain Bliss in The Winelands offers accommodation in a private Western Cape villa or peaceful garden cottage - both surrounded by rolling farmlands and stunning views in the Villiersdorp countryside. This hidden gem is the perfect destination for unwinding, reconnecting with loved ones and immersing yourself in the serene beauty of nature with the ease of self-catering.
The villa features four beautifully appointed bedrooms, catering to families, couples and groups. Thoughtfully designed interiors, modern amenities, and spacious living areas ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. Whether relaxing in cosy spaces or enjoying the panoramic vistas, you’re guaranteed a magical retreat. The Garden Cottage is a beautiful flat in a separate building from the villa - right next door. The cottage features luxurious furniture, a separate kitchen and a private patio with mountain views.
Tip: Book both the villa and the flat for a large group getaway!

Perched atop a hill on an organic farm in the Cape Winelands, the villa and cottage blend luxury with sustainability. Guests can enjoy the communal solar-heated pool, a communal boma fireplace for starlit evenings, and the communal entertainment area with games and gym facilities – all with 360-degree views of valleys and mountains.
Explore scenic hiking trails, enjoy birdwatching, or visit a neighbouring alpaca farm. Theewaterskloof Dam, just a short drive away, offers water sports such as sailing and kayaking. For wine enthusiasts, Stettyn Wine Farm and the renowned Franschhoek Valley provide exceptional tasting experiences.
PLEASE NOTE: A security deposit of R5,950 is required for the villa. It is fully refundable on the day of check-out, provided that no damage has been done to the property. The farm is located about 10 kms outside of the charming old town of Villiersdorp, which is called " the Switzerland of South Africa" because of the lakes and the mountains that surround it. In wintertime, one can enjoy the views of the snow-capped mountains while sitting by the roaring fire.
The surrounds are also perfect for hiking and bird watching. A neighbouring farm is a special alpaca farm. One can walk to it and experience hugging a fluffy cuddly alpaca. You can also take a variety of painting classes with renowned Villiersdorp artists. In terms of exploring the area, the location of Villiersdorp is amazing as it is very central. One can get to a variety of destinations and activities as a day trip.
The biggest dam in the Western Cape province called the Theewaterskloof dam is about 15 km away. It boasts a sailing club and a sports club. One can enjoy various water sports there as well as take a sailing course. Waterskiing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, kayaking are part of the activities the dam can offer. Nearby, there is a picturesque golf course overlooking the dam. There are 3 more beautiful golf courses in this area - Arabella golf course (70 kms away), Worcester golf course (45 kms away), the world class Pearl Valley golf course (90 kms away).
Stettyn is a lovely wine farm with award winning wines located 10 km away, where one can enjoy lovely wine tasting. It marks the beginning of the Worcester wine and olive tasting route.
Franschhoek, which is world famous for its magnificent wine farms and fine-dining restaurants, is 40 km away. Hermanus, which is known for its beautiful beaches and whale watching, is 80 km away. Robertson with its trendy wine farms is 80 km away. Montagu and Caledon, famous for their healing hot mineral springs, are 100 km and 60 km away, respectively. The funky and vibey Elgin railway station food market is 40 km away.
