Nature at Its Best
Waking up to the sounds of birds and the ocean view was incredible. Highly recommend Coopers Highlands.
The Surfer’s Bush Cabin at Coopers Highlands is an off-grid, eco-conscious retreat designed for travellers looking to reconnect with nature while staying close to the iconic waves of Jeffreys Bay. Surrounded by unspoilt fynbos and tucked into a private bush setting, the cabin offers a simple, rustic, and soulful getaway just minutes from the beach. Built from natural and repurposed materials, the cabin blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Inside, guests will find an open-plan living space with a wood-burning fireplace, a fully equipped kitchenette, a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom. Wide doors open onto a shaded stoep with a hammock and seating area, perfect for slow mornings, fireside evenings, and stargazing under dark skies. This is a digital detox spot — no Wi-Fi, no frills, just wild beauty, birdlife, and a connection to the land. Whether you’re surfing, hiking, journaling, or resting, the Surfer’s Bush Cabin is a sanctuary for stillness and adventure.
Located on a private eco-farm just outside Jeffreys Bay, Coopers Highlands offers panoramic views over valleys, forests, and the coast beyond. The cabin sits on the edge of indigenous bush, with walking trails, wildlife sightings, and incredible sunrises all part of the experience. Despite its peaceful isolation, the property is only a short drive to restaurants, surf breaks, and shops in town.
