Each of the 8 units, featuring fully equipped kitchens and outdoor decks, provides a front-row seat to the stunning panoramas. Alkantmooi caters exclusively to adult travellers, ensuring a tranquil and intimate atmosphere. Celebrate special occasions or simply savour the privacy, peace, and beauty that this reserve offers.
Spread across 12 hectares of pristine fynbos, Alkantmooi Private Nature Reserve lies within the unique vegetation of the southern tip of Africa in the Western Cape. A dirt road meanders through the reserve, surrounded by indigenous fynbos flowers and teeming with diverse wildlife. Embark on early morning or late afternoon walks to encounter vervet monkeys, bushbuck, and a myriad of bird species. The reserve borders the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve, offering unparalleled views of the Keurbooms Nature Reserve, Keurbooms Lagoon, Plettenberg Bay, and even Robberg Nature Reserve in the distance. Listen for the distinctive call of the Fish Eagle soaring above, and delight in sightings of butterflies, blue cranes, kingfishers, and other fascinating creatures.
The stay with Alkantmooi was great. The service was amazing, we received a breakfast platter with something to drink when we arrived. The views from the unit are breathtaking and it looks like in the images shown as advertised. We would definitely recommend this stay.

My Fiancé and I stayed here for 4 nights to explore the surrounding areas from Knysna to Tsitsikamma National Park. We stayed in a Keurkloof unit and even though it’s not facing the bay it was so peaceful looking out to the amazing hills around us. Great privacy to enjoy a bath looking out over the hills or even a braai on the balcony listening to the abundance of wildlife nearby while watching the sunset.

From George Airport:
Please note that the road to Alkantmooi is not accessible by tour buses.
Head northeast toward R404 and proceed for 52 m;
Turn right onto R404 towards Heroldsbaai and proceed for 2.4 km;
Turn left to merge onto N2 towards George and proceed for 11.6 km;
Use any lane to take the exit toward N2 and proceed for 1.2 km;
Continue onto N2 for 85.3 km;
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on N2 and proceed for 7.1 km;
Turn left towards Ferries and Alkantmooi, proceeding for 2 km;
Pass the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve hut, following the signs up the dirt track onto the hill;
Turn left and then right at the 'Alkantmooi' signpost and check in at reception.
Breakfast is not included in the rates but you are welcome to schedule a breakfast when you check-in or ahead of time, additional charges do apply. Served from 8h45. Breakfast is not available on Sundays and Public Holidays.
