About Highlands Lodge Mountain Retreat

Highlands Lodge Mountain Retreat is a beautiful escape just outside the Garden Route coastal town of George, and showcases Austrian-inspired craftsmanship in the heart of the Outeniqua Mountains. Embracing the untouched beauty of fynbos hills and mountain streams, the free-standing log cabins comprise spacious interiors and private entrances, each with a wooden deck offering panoramic views of the surrounding Outeniqua Mountains. The cabins are designed to blend in with the local pine forest, creating a tranquil retreat where nature's colours and aromas combine harmoniously.

Highlands Lodge Mountain Retreat, spanning 500 hectares, has survived multiple mountain fires since its establishment in 1991, a testament to nature's resilience. Semi-attached cabins, accommodating up to 12 when rented together, provide ideal family retreats. The property features a communal braai area, pizza oven, and a large swimming pool overlooking the fynbos-dotted mountains. A children's play area enhances the family-friendly ambience, making it an unforgettable experience. Two types of accommodation are available: free-standing log cabins and semi-attached cabins for families.
