Fires were lit and rooms warmed in advance of our arrival as it was a cool evening. The grounds, pool and pond were beautiful. Room was spacious, beautifully fitted out and opened onto a deck area overlooking the pond. Honesty bar in each room. We will definitely return for longer when the sun shines.

C. Days
One of the great assets of Lily Pond Country Lodge is its environment, which is pure and unpolluted. Together with its wildlife and surrounding forest, Lily Pond Country Lodge offers one of the greatest true and clean wildernesses left on the Garden Route and Tsitsikamma National Park. Lily Pond Country Lodge recognises its responsibility to respect the environment and is committed to achieving environmental best practices, where practically possible throughout its business activity.
They continually seek ways to conserve and protect natural resources, to minimise the wastage of raw materials and energy, whilst providing a consistent and quality product and service to our guests. They conduct internal environmental reviews and annually assess our progress towards improved environmental performance and revise as necessary. Customers and guests are made aware of the sustainability policy and to give them the option to help us achieve it. To ensure the team of staff is aware, involved and encouraged to be proactive in wanting to work to and improve environmental policies.
Energy Conservation:
The hotel has implemented various initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and promote sustainability. This includes the installation of solar panels and heat pumps, along with the widespread use of energy-saving bulbs throughout the establishment. A proactive "switch off policy" is encouraged among both staff and guests to minimize unnecessary energy consumption. Staff members are well-informed about the importance of lowering or turning off radiators and thermostats when rooms are not booked. Additionally, efforts are made to contribute to environmental conservation by printing literature on recycled paper. During periods of low occupancy, the hotel strategically isolates specific sections, allowing for the shutdown of heating and the reduction of lighting to emergency levels only. Regular boiler checks are conducted to ensure optimal energy use, and future plans involve the purchase of energy-efficient equipment and the integration of solar-powered water pumps, further aligning with the hotel's commitment to sustainable practices.
