Best safari experience
Absolutely beautiful lodge with incredible staff, outstanding food and great game viewing! I highly recommend a stay of no shorter than 3 or 4 nights! It’s just too lush and special to stay shorter!
Tanda Tula is a luxury safari camp surrounded by the vast wilderness of the Timbavati Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger region. As part of the Greater Kruger National Park, a 4.2-million-hectare expanse, Tanda Tula offers an intimate and immersive safari experience that blends adventure with refinement. Rooted in a deep respect for conservation and community, the camp is owned and run by people who have lived and worked in this landscape for generations. Guests are welcomed into a space where the spirit of the wild meets warm hospitality, creating unforgettable moments of connection.
Tanda Tula redefines safari luxury with its collection of nine hybrid canvas-and-glass suites, including two spacious family suites. Designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding bush, each suite offers privacy, tranquility, and breathtaking views of the untamed wilderness. The interiors draw inspiration from Tsonga heritage, featuring natural textures, organic materials, and elegant contemporary touches. Large decks and open-air spaces invite guests to fully embrace the sights and sounds of the African bush, while luxurious bathrooms and indulgent details ensure the utmost comfort.
Located within the Timbavati Nature Reserve, Tanda Tula enjoys an exclusive setting in one of South Africa’s most renowned wildlife areas. With a low-density approach to tourism, the reserve hosts only a handful of lodges across its 55,626 hectares, allowing for an unparalleled sense of space and seclusion. This translates to roughly 143 hectares of wilderness per guest, ensuring intimate wildlife encounters and a truly personal safari experience. Whether relaxing in the heart of camp or venturing out into the wild, guests are surrounded by a landscape teeming with life.
At Tanda Tula, each day is crafted around guests' unique pace, expectations, and style. Activities include tracking big cats at sunrise, unwinding by the pool, or retreating to the library for quiet reflection. Guests can indulge in soothing treatments at the bush spa or observe wildlife from the camp's hide as animals come to quench their thirst. The camp also offers unique experiences such as rhino notching, community project visits, and customised conservation activities for group bookings.
