Beautiful & peaceful
Stayed in the dam view villa. It was a beautiful, cosy apartment in the heart of Karkloof, away from the hustle & bustle of the city. Loved the attention to detail and treats by the host. Beautiful and peaceful scenery! We had a lovely stay, and hope to return in the future!
Slice of Heaven
Belvidere Country Estate is our new favourite place to stay in KZN. We stayed in the Vlei Villa and it was our own slice of heaven. Perfect example of a modern farmhouse with enough privacy to enjoy yourself comfortably. The villa itself was clean, comfortable and well taken care of. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return soon.
Happy weekend away
Spotlessly clean and eveyrhting we needed was available. Lovely outdoor seating area made for a comfortable and happy weekend getaway.
Belvidere Country Estate impact highlights
Belvidere Country Escape offers a serene getaway for travellers, promoting sustainable practices to protect the local environment and prioritize ecological well-being. The Woodley family has devoted themselves to renovating the dilapidated farmhouse and converting it into a functional farm with eco-friendly cottages. This has led to the establishment of a sanctuary for diverse plant and animal life, exemplified by an endangered ground hornbill taking refuge on their farm. Amidst the lovely views of the Karkloof Reserve and grazing farmland, the five accommodation units blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. The estate's commitment to sustainable practices, like offering self-catering kitchens and outdoor amenities, ensures minimal disruption to the environment. The calm atmosphere, surrounded by wetlands, mist-belt forests, and the Karkloof Falls, fosters an appreciation for nature and the need for its preservation.
