Swartberg Country Manor offers a variety of accommodations suited to families, small groups, or couples travelling the region. These include 25 comfortable en-suite guest rooms, the four-roomed Historical House overlooking a fig orchard, the 11-roomed stylish Main House offers 11 with breathtaking panoramic mountain views from the open lounge, and a further nine Karoo-style cottages plus a romantic honeymoon suite. The getaway also features a large swimming pool and lovely on-site restaurant.
The Klein Karoo in South Africa is a stunning valley that extends for about 350 kilometers, running from Montagu in the western region to Uniondale in the east. It is enveloped by majestic mountains, with the Swartberg Mountains to the north and the unbroken Langeberge and Outeniqua Mountains to the south, encompassing all of the famed Route 62 travellers route.
Swartberg Country Manor is situated on the farm “Voorbedacht” located in the Cango Valley, at the foot of the world-renowned Swartberg Mountain Pass. For those looking to explore the surroundings, the farm offers the ideal base to visit the nearby Cango Caves, hiking or mountain bike trails, the Swartberg Pass itself and many other historical points of interest.

My partner and I loved Swartberg Country Manor– the location was also amazing. The breakfast was very delicious, they went all out! The staff members were so professional yet friendly. We just felt at home.

From Oudtshoorn take Baron van Reede Street and head towards the Cango Caves.
This road will take you past the Cango Wildlife Ranch as well as the Cango Ostrich Farm through Schoemanspoort until you pass Wilgewandel on your right. (Approx 30km out of town).
Take the first road left indicated as the "Prince Albert" turnoff and continue along this road for approximately 12 km where you will find the last turnoff left before ascending the Swartberg Pass. The turnoff is indicated as the " Calitzdorp / Matjiesrivier " turnoff.
Travel another 4 km until you find the entrance to Swartberg Country Manor on your right marked by a guest entrance sign.
All ages are welcome. Children aged between 0 and 11 pay R620.00. Children aged between 12 and 18 pay 100% of the sharing rate.
