Accommodation Description
Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge offers a distinctive safari retreat composed of six circular, thatched-roof suites inspired by the local Tsonga culture and positioned along the banks of the Mluwati River. Each suite features a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with deep soaking bath, outdoor shower and a private deck overlooking a busy watering hole. Air-conditioning ensures comfort during warm days, and the design emphasises connection with nature while offering refined comfort. Communal areas include a stylish lounge, bar, dining terrace, swimming pool with game-viewing deck and spa treatment options delivered in-suite if preferred. The lodge is small and intimate — maximum twelve guests — which allows for personalised service and unique wildlife encounters in one of South Africa’s most exclusive safari concessions.
Setting Description
Set within the 10,000-hectare Mluwati Private Game Reserve bordering the iconic Kruger National Park, Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge lies along an ancient elephant route beside the Mluwati Riverbed. The location delivers both exclusive wilderness and spectacular game-viewing possibilities, as animals visit the watering hole visible from the lodge deck and pool area. The lodge sits amid leadwood, fig and acacia trees, creating shade and ambience, and its unfenced setting means the bush feels alive and immersive. Morning and sunset game drives in open 4x4 vehicles access wild terrain and track the Big Five, while afternoons might be spent poolside as elephants, antelope and other species wander past. With minimal mobile-signal and limited WiFi restricted to guest areas, the setting encourages a genuine bush disconnection and full-immersion safari experience.
