About Hluhluwe Bush Camp


Hluhluwe Bush Camp is an immersive glamping retreat perched overlooking the enchanting False Bay Park within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park of KwaZulu Natal. Simangaliso " translates to "miracle and wonder," encapsulating the essence of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This expansive park, South Africa's largest and first natural World Heritage site, extends from the St. Lucia Estuary to the Mozambique border, renowned as the Elephant Coast. Along its 220km pristine coastline lies endless beaches, wildlife coastal forests, and a mesmerising array of oceanic life.


Hluhluwe Bush Camp features five luxuriously appointed self-catering glamping tents, two adventure tents with private outside bathrooms, three fully equipped Tipi tents, a bohemian-style caravan named Poppy, and two intimate bush campsites with electricity, braai facilities, and ablution blocks. There's also the larger Umfomothi House, a spacious self-catering residence in close proximity to Hluhluwe Bush Camp perfect for families or friends travelling together.

How to get there

From Durban: * Follow the N2 direction Stanger/Kwadakuza, Empangeni, Mongolia. * Take the exit R22 Sodwana Bay/Hluhluwe. * In Hluhluwe, go straight at the first 3 roundabouts, at the 4th roundabout go left direction Sodwana Bay. Follow this road for 1,5 km and go right over the railways follow the R22 to Sodwana Bay for another 10 km until you see the signs False Bay Resorts, Falaza, go here right, follow this road for 2,5 km and go left direction private school and sign Hluhluwe Bush Camp. After the private school go right the dirt road in for 1 km and at the entrance of Flamboaynt Lodge you go left to Hluhluwe Bush Camp 300 M You see Hluhluwe Bush camp right. From Sodwana Bay: * Follow the R22 direction * 15 km before Hluhluwe there is a sign Kuleni, after one kilometre there is a dirt road to the left (opposite Badenborst Pineapple Farm). * Follow this dirt road for 4 km and go left at sign Hluhluwe Bush Camp drive for 1 km and at the entrance of Flamboyant Lodge you go left to Hluhluwe Bush Camp 300 M You see Hluhluwe Bush camp right.
