Farm 215 is a sweeping nature escape surrounded by hectares of untouched indigenous fynbos plains, offering a beautiful getaway in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. For the past 16 years, the owners have welcomed guests from all corners of the globe, inviting them to revel in the wonders of nature and enjoy every aspect of their offerings. Over the recent months, their focus has been on revitalizing and updating the establishment. While the location and structures remain unchanged, they now offer lovely self-catering accommodation.
The accommodations are spread out across the 800-hectare private nature reserve, and sleep up to 20 guests with each unit offering a fully equipped kitchen. Engage in captivating experiences, unwind in private wood-fired hot tubs, and more. This unique haven for birds and wildlife, including the elusive Cape Leopard, also shelters numerous endangered plant species. It's a harmonious blend of nature and comfort that awaits those seeking an escape from it all.
The vicinity surrounding Farm 215's reserve forms an untouched mosaic, blending rural landscapes and natural expanses that extend to the ocean. It stands as one of the most biodiverse regions in the Cape Floral Kingdom of South Africa, offering prime opportunities for shore-based whale watching and featuring pristine, deserted sandy beaches.
During your retreat to Farm 215, one guarantee stands out: there's no traffic, no construction noise, and no loud neighbours — just the serene sounds of Mother Nature. A 25-meter swimming pool, exclusive hot tubs, a mountain bike trail (bring your own bike), a 3-hour hiking trail, and private barbecue/braai facilities are among the amenities. Additionally, they serve as a base station for the African Horse Company, providing outrides and multi-day trails.
Stunning view ,great set up, “being private” as the other bungalows are far enough, awesome bath tub with relaxing fynbos water, very comfy bed, a very nice closed wardrobe with bath ropes (what a service). Luxury towels. Also a great pool (we didn’t try cause of cold weather) but spectacular views, superb nature and awesome hosts very very friendly and great communication
Maarten has established quite the sublime environment in a natural fynbos... the work he is continuing is essential in keeping native habitat for fauna and Flora. The suites on the property are unlike any system I have experienced(traveled 96 countries). These are simply put houses with minimal impact on the environment. Every creature comfort and stylistically modern/efficient.
We had an exceptional stay at Farm 215. The Fynbos suite was very well equiped with everything you would need for a weekend away. The pool was great and the views from the suite were fantastic. Thank you very much for having us!
Farm 215 is part of a larger Protected Environment and the Walkerbay Fynbos Conservancy. The land of Farm 215 is freed from alien invasive vegetation and rehabilitated to its former indigenous natural glory including critically rare fynbos vegetation types of the Cape Floral Kingdom, indigenous forest, and wetland. The water coming from the taps is sourced higher up in the reserve. The water is safe and approved to drink and recycled after use. Farm 215 also only employs local people.
